- The Cambrian News and Merionethshire Standard 25/12/1914: A special committee recommended that it would be unwise to erect a fire station on the ground of the Market Hall, and that the matter should be deferred pending a visit to the fire stations at Aberystwyth and Dolgelley [so presumably no fire station before the end of 1914 at earliest]
